The Four Seasons

After creating various designs for different seasons in the past (Sholach and Strawberry Fields as an example), I thought it might be quite nice to have a blanket that incorporates all the seasons of the year – and The Four Seasons was born.

Each season merges into the next – starting with Winter at the bottom, flowing into Autumn, Summer and finally Spring.

This is probably the most colourful project I’ve done, and it feels like such a happy blanket. It can be very impactful depending on the colour schemes you decide to use.

As each season flows into the next, the whole height of the blanket needs to be worked, therefore resizing it isn’t possible. You can of course reduce or increase the repeats to change the width of your project if you want to make a table runner, wall-hanging, or scarf.

The Four Seasons is worked in the normal overlay mosaic row-by-row technique.

The PDF has 6 easy-to-read charts and corresponding written instructions. The pattern also details the exact colour-way I used with the amount of yarn per colour.

Two PDFs are available - one using US terms and one using UK terms.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

You can of course create any width you want, but the pattern means that the height will always be the same. So you could create a table runner, wall hanging or scarf if you prefer.
