The Berber

The Berber was my first mosaic crochet design, and inspired by my many trips to Morocco, bobbing around the Medinas and getting seriously inspired by the amazing architecture, rugs, wall-hangings, and tiles.

This design, while it looks complicated is a simple pattern to create and great for beginners.

This blanket is great fun to make and is definitely a ‘one more row’ project.

The Berber Mosaic Afghan is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

Two PDFs are available, one in US terms and one in UK terms.

The PDF has 23 easy-to-read charts for each pattern included, with corresponding written instructions.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

You can of course create any size you want as it’s a simple repeating pattern. You can chop and change the individual patterns around, you can take some out or repeat some. Entirely up to you - so go for it. Be creative! :)

I hope you enjoy creating your own Berber mosaic afghan.
