Linea
Linea started life as a tile pattern I designed back in 2022 – a pattern with separate sections of tiles, each doing its own thing. But I was seeing too many tile patterns being designed, so when I came back to it, I wanted mine to be a little different. I reworked the design, pulling the motifs together so they connect and flow across the blanket as a single continuous pattern.

The name Linea comes from the Latin for ‘line’ or ‘stripe’, which felt right for a design built on movement and connection. While it’s still rooted in geometry, it’s less about individual blocks and more about how everything flows together.

Linea is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

Two PDFs are available, one in US terms and one in UK terms.

The PDF has 9 easy-to-read charts for each pattern included, with corresponding written instructions.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet. This pattern will look great in two colours, but you can be adventurous as you like and use perhaps a variegated or striped background – totally your choice.

I hope you enjoy creating your own Linea afghan.
