Sholach
The inspiration for this design comes from my friends Kelly and Craig, and the rest of the McIntyres (no relation to me) and their Christmas tree farm based just outside Blairgowrie in East Perthshire in Scotland.

I always wanted to do a nice landscape-based design and I thought it would be fab to create their own Christmas Tree Farm blanket for wintertime.

Sholach is pronounced Sho-lakkkk – the way we Scots pronounce Loch – with a throaty k.

It is a lovely project for winter or Christmas and is created using the overlay mosaic technique.

The PDF has 6 easy-to-read charts (with X’s for DCs) for each pattern included, and corresponding written instructions.

Two PDFs are available - one using US terms and one using UK terms.

You can use any yarn and corresponding hook you like for this pattern, just remember a tighter tension is better for mosaic crochet.

You can of course create any size you want as it’s a simple repeating pattern.

I have also designed some free additions for Sholach - Into the Woods, and Deer in the Woods. These can be found in the Freebies section.
