I am absolutely thrilled to introduce you to our latest mosaic crochet pattern, St. Kilda. This design is the result of a beautiful collaboration between Lucia Dunn from Lucia’s Fig Tree and me.
Together, we poured our hearts and creativity into this pattern, infusing it with our individual styles and bringing forth two stunning colourways. Join me as I take you on a journey into the captivating world of the St Kilda puffins.
The Inspiration Behind St Kilda:
Sometimes, inspiration strikes when you least expect it. For Lucia and I, it was the allure of St Kilda, an archipelago, and UNESCO World Heritage Site located off the north coast of Scotland, known for its stunning natural beauty and diverse wildlife.
One of the most iconic and beloved creatures found in this region are the puffins, with their distinctive black and white markings and colourful beaks.
The rich and vibrant marine life surrounding St Kilda provides a wealth of inspiration for a mosaic crochet pattern. From the delicate swirls of the ocean waves to the shimmering scales of fish, the ocean life around St Kilda provides a rich tapestry of colours and shapes that we have transformed into mosaic crochet design.
The Design Process:
Bringing St Kilda to life was an exhilarating and collaborative experience. Lucia and I dove headfirst into brainstorming, sketching, and refining, channelling our passion for crochet into every stitch. The pattern evolved organically, blending our artistic sensibilities and skills into a seamless tapestry of stitches and colours.
The St Kilda Colourways:
One of the most exciting aspects of our collaboration was the creation of two distinct colourways for the St Kilda pattern. Each colourway showcases our personal styles and preferences, infusing the design with unique vibrancy. From warm earthy tones to bold and vibrant hues, the St Kilda pattern offers a palette to suit every crocheter's taste.
Customisation and Personalisation:
While the St Kilda pattern provides a solid foundation, we encourage you to let your creativity soar and make it your own. Experiment with colour placements and yarn choices to infuse your unique touch into the design. The beauty of St Kilda lies in its adaptability, inviting you to create something truly extraordinary.
Pattern Release:
The release of the St Kilda mosaic crochet pattern marks a significant milestone in both Lucia Dunn's and my creative journeys. This collaboration has allowed us to combine our passions and skills, resulting in a pattern that we are immensely proud of. We sincerely hope that St Kilda will ignite your imagination, inspire exploration, and bring joy to your crochet projects. Get ready to embark on this magical crochet adventure with us.
